Commemeration of the centenary of WW1 at St. Mary's Church Gislingham.

Jackie Campbell

Thanks to the amazing efforts of our volunteer ladies and gentlemen, we now have 4,800 poppies towards our display at St. Mary’s Church in November. Please return any completed poppies to me now so that they can be added to our total, if you contact me I am happy to collect. Do carry on knitting now that the weather is cooler, we have no limit to the number that we can use and I still have wool available. Thank you again for your efforts so far.

Kitchener needs you.

If embroidery or tapestry is more your thing, perhaps you would like to help with the banner for the back of the church. The theme is Harvest and Remembrance, all materials provided. Please come and record your World War 1 ancestor in the Remembrance Book in the church. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have all their details, it is to remember all who fought for their country, both those who survived and those who did not.
