Eye Rock - The Story So Far

I have painted around 3000 rocks now and these and others have travelled all round the world. We have had findings in Tenerife, Tunisia, Ibiza, Turkey, Canada, USA, Bulgaria, Corsica, Sweden, Greece and Lanzarote, not to mention all over the UK. It’s amazing to think our followers have taken their rocks, by hand, on their holidays around the UK and the world.

I have been amazed and truly grateful at the amount of different people that have got involved in the painting, hiding and finding of rocks from children, parents, grandparents to even two of our super Eye Rocker dogs in Gislingham; Fred and Lissy, who regularly find and re-hide when they are out on their walkies.

I have particularly enjoy painting the Halloween Rocks which we will be hiding very soon. For any one thinking of giving Rock Painting a go or those already involved, we are very lucky that our friends at EmZo Gift Shop & Café /J Lawes based in Station Road, Bacton have kindly offered to get involved by placing a tub of rocks outside Emzo.

When you’ve finished your shopping, you can pick up a rock and join us. Once you’re hooked we would recommend Scottish Pebbles which are available at J Lawes for only £5.99 for a large bag.

I have just finished painting rocks for Breast Cancer Awareness Week in October, plus a lot of Poppies for Remembrance Sunday. If you would like to join in just remember to write Facebook Eye Rock on the reverse and “like” the page so you can watch your rocks travel. You never know, yours could be the next to be found on the other side of the world!

Finally, I would just to thank everyone who paints rocks but also all the followers who take the time to find and re-hide, you are all amazing and here’s to the next successful 6 months. You can find us on Facebook Eye Rock.

Keep Rocking!
