New Lease of Life for Playpark

A team of volunteers, led by residents Mark Askew and David Hardman and Parish Councillors Ian Unwin, Phil Steadman and Lucinda Tacey have been hard at work overhauling the existing equipment at the play park on Gislingham's Charity Meadow and making plans for further improvements.

The volunteers have, so far, assessed, cleaned, repaired and generally spruced up the existing equipment that will be retained in readiness for widescale resurfacing and the selection and installation of new play equipment.

Once CCTV has been installed, which is scheduled for completion soon, the Parish Council will consult with villagers, including the main 'target audience' for the playpark, otherwise known as the kids, to ascertain their preferences for new equipment.

There is still a lot of work to be done but I am sure everyone will acknowledge the hard work that these volunteers have put in to improve what is available in the short term.

Updates about the new play equipment and the CCTV will appear in future editions of The Messenger.
