Whilst Jenny and I have come to love the Suffolk countryside, it is of course always good to visit other places and to compare and contrast. So it was that we found ourselves in the Lake District in mid-February for a short break.

Nature Notes - November (6 December 2019)
I hope that you’ve been enjoying the autumn colour that’s all around us. As I write this in mid-November some of the colours of the trees and hedgerows have been stunning and so far we haven’t experienced the winds that blows them all away.

A little while ago I mentioned that a couple of folk had spotted Hedgehogs in their gardens. Well, I’m delighted to say that Eddie Prior has been in touch to report further sightings in her own Gislingham garden.

Nature Notes - August (7 September 2019)
This has been a busy month for me
but I did find time to visit a couple of Suffolk Wildlife Trust (SWT) Centres at a time
that is particularly good for butterfly spotting. Also this month I’m pleased to say
that we have a couple of photos to enjoy that have been sent in by readers.

This month’s edition has turned out to be something of an insect special inspired by a splendid photo of a Rosemary Beetle taken by Mike Heath of Gislingham.

This month let’s start with a visit report from the Loch
Lomond and Trossachs National Park in Scotland,
which is where Jenny and I spent a week in mid-May.
Gislingham Footpath Update (1 June 2019)
Many thanks for the residents that have offered to help me erect new way markers and
survey the bridges etc.
Nature Notes - May (1 June 2019)
We’ve enjoyed some excellent butterfly spotting conditions recently and it’s
good to see so many fluttering about.
Nature Notes - April (29 April 2019)
Towards the end of April Jenny and I spent a week at the North Norfolk coast, officially an area of outstanding natural beauty, a haven for all kinds of wildlife and well known to many readers of the Messenger.
Nature Notes - March (29 April 2019)
In late February and early March, we had some wonderful weather – bright sunny skies that beckoned us all to get outdoors.
