Gislingham Parish Council Notes

Date: 31 August 2022

The Draft Minutes from the Annual Parish Council Meeting and Annual Village Meeting held on 15th August 2022 can be found on the Parish Council Website. These Minutes are also affixed to the Parish Council Noticeboard located outside the Village Shop. I would encourage all residents to look at the Agendas and Minutes on the Gislingham Parish Council website at http://gislingham. onesuffolk.net/ to keep up to date on items which are discussed at meetings by Councillors.

At the Parish Council meetings there is time set aside for the public to voice any concerns they have in the Village.

The first point of contact for any matters relating to the Parish Council, is the Parish Clerk on clerk@gislinghamparishcouncil.com or on 07796 410694.

Readers of the Messenger may have noticed that the number of Bus Routes running through Gislingham has significantly increased in recent months and there are now three routes going to Diss, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds. This is in no small part due to the excellent work carried out by Cllr Ian Urwin who has successfully campaigned on this subject and negotiated with both the Bus Companies and Suffolk County Council to achieve this much needed improvement in services.

Congratulations to newly Co-Opted Cllr Christopher Tranter, yes you read that right, Cllr Tranter stepped down at the May 2022 Parish Council meeting, but had a rethink and realised how much he missed us all! We are still actively looking for residents who live or work in Gislingham to become Parish Councillors. If you feel it is something that would be of interest to you, please do contact the Parish Clerk for further details. Thank you.

The Parish Council will be considering applications for Grants and Donations at the September Meeting on Monday 19th September.
