Parish council update Oct 2020

Date: 5 October 2020

The draft Minutes from the Parish Council Zoom meeting held on 21st September 2020 can be found on the Parish Council Website http://

When Minutes have been approved at either a Parish Council meeting or Zoom Virtual meeting, they will be uploaded to the Parish Council Website and a paper copy will be put on the Parish Council Noticeboard (located outside the Village Shop). At Parish Council meetings there is time set aside for the public to give their views/questions to the Parish Council on items on the Agenda or raise issues for consideration for inclusion at future meetings. When the meeting is on Zoom residents can email the Parish Clerk for an invitation email to join the virtual meeting.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Litter Pick in Gislingham on Sunday 20th September. It was very much appreciated particularly with us all having to follow “Social Distancing” guidelines. We hope to hold another Litter Pick next year, date to be confirmed.

We are in the process of arranging for the bark under the zip-wire on Charity Meadow to be sifted and topped up as shards of glass had been discovered so until this work has been completed, we regret that we cannot re-install the zip-wire seat at present. Apologies to all those responsible users of the Playground but we need to consider the safety of all our residents.

A Playground Inspection was carried out by an Independent Company on 20th August, the Report has now been received by the Parish Council. This was an Agenda item in September when we discussed the way forward regarding implementing the recommended repairs and improvements to the Playground.

Please can residents witnessing anti-social behaviour and damage on the Playground on Charity Meadow report your concerns on:

Generally, the first point of contact for any matters relating to the Parish Council, is the Parish Clerk on or on 07796410694.

The following link gives contact details for all Parish Councillors

As Government Guidelines have recently changed to advise that only 6 people can meet inside, the Parish Council will be continuing with their Meetings via Zoom for the foreseeable future.

Please can we all do our part and follow the guidance issued by the Government. Thank you.

Chair, Gislingham Parish Council
